Um escrito tupi do capitão Simão Soares Parayba (1645)

Abstract

This study examines a post scriptum document in Tupi language signed by the Potiguara Chieftain Simão Soares, introduced in a letter produced in the same language by the fellow Potiguara Chieftain Antônio Filipe Camarão in August 19th, 1645. The objectives of this work are: to compile bibliographical information about the post scriptum author, and in what concerns the text itself, we aim to transcribe it paleographically, translate it to Portuguese and analyze it linguistically and discursively.
