Le “Triangle atlantique”: émergence et expansion de la sphère maçonnique internationale

Abstract

What do we know about the masonic organizations and networks in the world? How did they grow from 250000 members by 1789 to 2 millions in 1914 and 3 to 8 millions nowadays? How, when and where did they spread? This paper aims to provide concrete answers from statistical and comparative views, with a focus on the Americas, in the long eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
