Éléments de réflexion pour une didactique du plurilinguisme en Afrique francophone
Abstract
In sub-Saharan Africa, the question of the didactics of multilingualism is very different from that which is currently under debate in Europe. The absence of learners' first languages in the educational systems often leads to monolingualism, with schools working in a European language, either French or English depending on their former colonial ties. As such, constructing of plurilingualism at school requires first the emergence of African languages and therefore, the construction of a didactics of these languages as first languages, a challenge which the educational systems have not yet really taken up.
