El alumnado extranjero en el marco de la educación inclusiva / Foreign pupils in the framework of inclusive education

Abstract

Resumen: El continuo aumento de la población extranjera en España y, por consiguiente, del alumnado extranjero, plantea numerosos interrogantes. El sistema educativo español establece una serie de medidas para afrontar esta realidad plurilingüe y multicultural. En este estudio nos planteamos explicar algunas de estas medidas para la atención del alumnado inmigrante en el marco de la educación inclusiva: mediación intercultural, apoyo lingüístico, programas de mantenimiento de la cultura de origen, etc. Ofrecemos también datos estadísticos actuales sobre el número de alumnos extranjeros y su evolución entre 2000 y 2011, además de su distribución por etapas educativas, comunidades autónomas, tipo de centro, procedencia geográfica, etc. Abstract: The continuous increase of the foreign population in Spain and, consequently, of foreign pupils, poses numerous questions. The Spanish education system establishes a series of measures to deal with this multilingual and multicultural reality. In this study we aim to explain some of these measures for attending to the immigrant pupil within the framework of inclusive education: intercultural mediation, linguistic assistance, programmes for maintaining the culture of origin, etc. We also offer up-to-date statistical data on the number of foreign students and their evolution between 2000 and 2011, as well as their distribution across educative stages, autonomous communities, type of school, geographic origin.
