A Causal Model of Factors Influencing English Language Achievement of Grade 6 Students in Roi-Et Primary Educational Service Area Office 2

The purposes of this research were to study the causal model of English language achievement and to validate factors used in the model that influenced the English language achievement of Grade 6 Students in Roi-Et Primary Education Service Area Office 2. The sample were 530 students selected by using a multi-stage random sampling technique. A structural questionnaire was used to collect data from 7 issues; - 1) The attitudes towards learning English 2) Achievement Motive 3) Expectation of higher education 4) Parents’ carefulness 5) Family relationship 6) Teachers’ quality 7) The attitudes towards online Learning. Statistics used was structural equation modeling to confirm the validity of model and to analyze the developed structural equation model.The research findings were as follows:1. The majority of the respondents’ opinions towards the level of family factors was at a high level (= 4.19, S.D. = 0.53). By items found that parents’ carefulness was high (= 4.05, S.D. = 0.54) and family relationship was also high (= 4.35, S.D. = 0.63). The school factors were at a high level (= 3.93, S.D. = 0.41). By items found that teachers’ quality was high (= 4.42, S.D. = 0.60) and the attitudes toward online learning was moderate (= 3.44, S.D. = 0.51). The student factors were at a high level (= 3.90, S.D. = 0.55). By items found that achievement motive was at a high level (= 4.25, S.D. = 0.76). Expectation of higher education was at a high level (= 4.13, S.D. = 0.70) and the attitudes towards learning English was moderate (= 3.32, S.D. = 0.45).2. Analysis revealed that a causal model of factors Influencing English Language Achievement of Grade 6 Students in Roi-Et Primary Education Service Area Office 2. Fitted to the empirical data. (Chi-square = 53.97, p = 0.011, df = 27, RMSEA = 0.044, CFI = 0.957, GFI = 0.981, AGFI = 0.955).
