A agroecologia e a fumicultura: distintas trajetórias para o desenvolvimento territorial rural do município de São Mateus do Sul, PR

Abstract

In this study we tried to understand the differences between two socioeconomic trajectories from the rural area of São Mateus do Sul, represented by the tobacco producers and agroecological farmers. Contextualizing this discussion about Rural Territorial Development, we analyzed the concepts and development processes implemented in Latin America and in Brazil and the current discussion on the territorial development. Within a case study, we did aqualitative survey observing the field, analysis of the political policies and interviews with farmers from the city of São Mateus do Sul.
