The paper is an interpretation of the research on the Internet of Things in the context of scientific interests of Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Center (VIRAC). A nanosatellite essence has been explained as well as data on nanosatellite launches with forecasts are given. Digital Video Broadcasting DVB-S2 basics and some nanosatellite (so-called CubeSat) features are given. Some emergence nanosatellite researches regarding information technologies have shown, namely, Inter-Satellite Communication, and MAC Protocol studies. In the Section on CubeSat teaching, we consider the US University Nanosat Program and the European Space Agency efforts, considering in more detail the OPS-SAT tools a CubeSat developed as a training platform.
