Resíduo eletrônico e suas implicações ambientais: diagnóstico sobre a percepção do tema em uma instituição de ensino tecnológico
Abstract
O presente trabalho avaliou a percepção do corpo docente, discente e técnico administrativo de uma unidade de ensino tecnológico federal com relação ao resíduo eletrônico gerado e suas possíveis implicações ambientais no município em que está implantado. Trabalhou-se com a pesquisa qualitativa a partir de questionários semiestruturados aplicados aos usuários de materiais eletrônicos. Foram efetuados diagnósticos materiais e humanos, bem como levantamento bibliográfico e legislativo. Os dados obtidos foram organizados e avaliados a partir dos signos mais recorrentes. Observou-se que a instituição não apresentou programa de reuso de materiais, mas destina seus resíduos eletrônicos de acordo com normas internas. Os professores da instituição têm conhecimento da legislação sobre o lixo eletrônico, mas ainda não agregam de forma significativa o conteúdo às suas aulas. O corpo discente tem conhecimento dos conceitos básicos sobre o tema, delineando a responsabilidade coletiva sobre ele, mas não tem estudado o tema diretamente a partir do currículo vigente em que se insere. Diante disso, torna-se necessária a discussão desta problemática nos cursos da área de tecnologia da informação, buscando a promoção de ações junto à comunidade, no sentido da conscientização sobre os problemas do acúmulo do lixo eletrônico, bem como da sua adequada gestão. Electronic waste and their environmental implications: diagnosis about theme in an institution of technological teaching Abstract The present work evaluated the understanding of the teaching staff, students and administrative technicians of a federal technological teaching unit regarding the electronic waste generated and its possible environmental implications in the municipality where it is located. Qualitative research was done based on semi-structured questionnaires applied to users of electronic materials. Material and human diagnoses were carried out, as well as a bibliographic and legislative survey. The data obtained were organized and evaluated using the most frequent signs. It was observed that the institution did not present a program for the reuse of materials, but disposes of its electronic waste according to internal rules. The institution's teachers are aware of the legislation on electronic waste, but still do not add significantly to the content of their classes. The student body is aware of the basic concepts on the topic, outlining the collective responsibility for it, but has not studied the topic directly from the current curriculum in which it is inserted. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss this issue in courses in the area of Information Technology, seeking to promote actions with the community, in order to raise awareness about the problems of the accumulation of electronic waste, as well as its proper management.
