The Effectiveness of the Supervisory Actions of the Environmental Military Police of Rio de Janeiro State

Abstract

Through an evaluation of the effectiveness of the actions of the environmental military police and the main legal postulates associated with environmental protection, the present work seeks to propose a methodology to diagnose the main obstacles to the non-application of criminal, administrative or damage repair sanctions on environmental issues. By means of descriptive and exploratory methods of empirical-phenomenological foundations and secondary quantitative data collected in the archives of the Environmental Police Command of the Rio de Janeiro Military Police and the State Court of Justice, it was noticed the prevalence of the impunity of the offenders and the acceleration of the environmental degradation.
