Le terrain des Nomades, des Roms et des Voyageurs

Abstract

This article focuses on the notion of terrain applied to the field of studies dedicated to Roma and Voyageurs (Travellers) in history and anthropology. Starting from an observation on one of the many living places of Voyageurs in France, in this case known as “private terrain”, the author draws up a series of comparisons between works on various populations belonging to the Romani sphere and questions the various uses of the notion of terrain.
