Anorectal prolapse in an infant mimicking gluteal mass
Abstract
Rectal prolapse is rare in children but usually occurs before four years of age. There are a few conditions that predispose to rectal prolapse as well as numerous conditions that mimic the condition. We present a case of rectal prolapse that presented as a gluteal mass and diagnosis was confirmed by radiology imaging and was successfully managed surgically.
