Tooth extraction displacement is a rare and serious complication. This article will report a case in which the impacted third molar on the right side of the mandible (#48) was displaced to the pterygomandibular space during tooth extraction. A month ago, the patient underwent the extraction of the impacted #48 at the local clinic. No teeth were removed after the operation, and symptoms such as pain, swelling, and restricted mouth opening in the operation area were subsequently seen. The symptoms were relieved after oral administration of anti-inflammatory drugs. Then came to our hospital for related examinations, preoperative evaluation and treatment.
