Investigação dos níveis de vibração em usuários de diferentes modelos de bicicleta

Abstract

Currently, the means of daily transportation and leisure by means of bicycles are increasingly popular due to its sustainability, helping to reduce the emission of harmful gases and improving the individual health of the cyclist. The investigation of vibrations acting on users of this means of locomotion is of paramount importance to assess their potential health risk, as well as their degree of comfort, in order to make this equipment even more attractive. This work experimentally evaluates the vibration levels in bicycle users from a set of measurements, using tri-axial accelerometers and a data acquisition system. In the end, sufficient amount of information is obtained to classify the cycling activity regarding to comfort and health criteria. Besides that, it is also generated knowledge about its causes, and improvements are proposed, in order to enhance performance in terms of comfort and health in exposure to vibration.
