In this collection of studies, the authors offer an insight into a research project entitled, "(Re)presentation of love in the media." In the study funded by the German Research Council (DFG), eight individual cases are presented. They deal with both the media's depiction of love and marriage proposal in popular love stories on television and with love in our everyday life, such as declarations of love or marrying. The analysis is highly influenced by a hermeneutic sociological approach to knowledge. The researchers use a wide range of methods. These collected articles bring together many interesting and varying points-of- view on the subject of intimate acquaintances and the realization of "being in love. URN: urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs040380
