Chronotope of cities in The bad girl, by Mario Vargas Llosa

Abstract

This paper is a chronotopic interpretation of the novel The bad girl, by Mario Vargas Llosa. It emphasizes the functioning of different cities, where the plot takes place, as essential parts of the argumentative structure. The emotional load of these cities, ideologies and implied ethics, as well as the characters’ evolution, within the author’s context and represented events, were needed to know the text’s sense and intention.
