Revolución y Constitución en España: miradas desde la prensa en Buenos Aires y Venezuela, 1820-1821
Abstract
Hispanic American’s press, either produced in territories that remained loyal to Fernando VII or that of groups who favoured independence, gave account of the insurrection that Rafael de Riego launched on the 1st of January 1820, as well as of the new constitutional period in Spain. This article analyses and compares the news about Spain transmitted by several publications from Buenos Aires and Venezuela, that is, the Gaceta de Buenos Aires, the Gaceta de Caracas, the Argos of Buenos Aires and theCorreo del Orinoco, in order to observe how did this periodical press judge Spain’s politics and constitution between 1820 and 1821.
