Inskrypcja z niezachowanej armaty odlanej przez Jana Breutelta w 1647 r.

Abstract

AN INSCRIPTION FROM A CANNON CAST IN 1647 BY IOANNES BREUTELT The article discusses an inscription copied in the 17th c. from a cannon, which has not survived until today, cast in 1647 by Ioannes Breutelt. The copy is part of a collection of drawings and notes preserved in the National Historical Archives of Belarus in Minsk. This collection, undoubtedly connected with the Birże branch of the Radziwiłł family, has been published several times in Russian and Belorussian, but it has never been analyzed in sufficient detail. Researchers previously interested in the collection did not pay attention to the inscription and their studies have not been noted by Polish and Lithuanian historians. The author of the latest monograph of Ioannes Breutelt (Gražina Marija Martinaitienė, 2014) did not know the inscription.
