Technical Guidance Standard for Cardiac Rehabilitation
Abstract
Cardiac rehabilitation refers to the application of a comprehensive medical approach that includes exercise, medication, psychosocial support, nutrition, and behavioral interventions such as smoking cessation and alcohol moderation, to enable patients with cardiovascular diseases to achieve a normal or near-normal lifestyle, reduce the risk of recurrent cardiovascular events and sudden death, and to restore physical strength and return to society as soon as possible. Cardiac rehabilitation, with exercise at its core, can significantly improve the exercise tolerance, mood, and mortality prognosis of patients with cardiovascular diseases, enhance the quality of life, and reduce medical expenses and the risk of readmission. The purpose of formulating the "Technical Guidelines for Cardiac Rehabilitation" is to assist clinical medical workers in standardizing the development and implementation of cardiac rehabilitation programs, improving the efficacy of cardiac rehabilitation, and promoting its development. This guideline elaborates on the assessment and timing of cardiac rehabilitation, the formulation of exercise prescriptions, medication prescriptions, nutritional prescriptions, psychological prescriptions, control of risk factors, methods to improve patient compliance, quality control of cardiac rehabilitation, and home-based cardiac rehabilitation. This guideline is applicable for guiding clinical cardiologists, rehabilitation physicians, general practitioners, and rehabilitation therapists in the formulation and implementation of cardiac rehabilitation programs.
