Life is not about living! Living life successfully is Life! Love is the foundation of life! The shield of life is (Aram) Virtue. When a life partner comes into one's life, everything that belongs to him becomes theirs. Selfishness should be avoided and maintenance of other’s welfare becomes important. What belongs to one becomes theirs when they are getting married. At that time, what is for them in their life is for the next generation. A wife is an auspicious symbol of married life because she is the one who heads the house. Therefore, she is called Illal. In Tamil society, maintaining a home well is a virtue which is why she is more important in married life. Women are much more responsible in household duties. The Tamil women have followed moral codes of life. They stick to the codes of life and exhibit virtues in their lives. Hence, the purpose of this article is to study the characteristics of such women as having love, patience, compromise, tolerance, sacrifice, bravery, responsibility, caring for elders, hospitality and instruction through select works from Tamil literature.
