IMPROVEMENT IN DETERMINATION OF AN AVERAGE MINE OPENING PROFILE
Abstract
Determination of air current resistance in a mine opening with allowable error depends very much on knowing the exact values of its geometric characteristics, i.e. length, cross-section, and perimeter. Eventual error in determining an opening profile grows when calculating the resistance by raising to the third power. The paper describes the construction of a portable device for illumination of cross-sectional area for taking photographs. Determination of geometric characteristics of an average stage profile of a mine opening is analytically and graphically presented herewith by application of F3/U relation of measured profiles (the paper is published in Croatian).
