Objective: to explore the state of adaptation and resistance to stress in children with chronic gastroduodenitis. Materials and methods. There were observed thirty nine children with chronic gastroduodenitis, aged 13 to 18 years, who were treated in the gastroenterological department of Ivano-Frankivsk regional children’s hospital. Verification of the diagnosis of chronic gastroduodenitis was confirmed on the basis of anamnesis, physical data and results of fibroesophagogastroduodenoscopy. The heart rate variability was analyzed by CardioLab system of «Khai-Medika». Value of the heart rhythm variability was holded in regimes of timely and spectral analysis according to the international standards with detailed analysis of regulatory system activity. The level of stress in children was assessed by the method «Detecting neuro-psychological stability, risk maladjustment to stress «Рrognosis» of St. Petersburg Military Medical Academy. Results. Most children with chronic gastroduodenitis have a strain or exhaustion of regulatory systems with reduced adaptation and adaptive capacity of the body and lack of resistance to stress. Also a direct correlation between the degree of adaptation and reduction of the level of resistance to stress in this group of patients was found. Conclusions. Most children with chronic gastroduodenitis had decreased adaptive capacity of the body and resistance to stress. The inclusion of determination of the heart rhythm variability and psychological testing to the diagnostic complex and correction of identified violations are necessary by using psychotherapy and medication activities that will improve the efficiency of medical care for children with chronic gastroduodenitis.
