The article discusses the factors of formation of positive motivation of students in the conditions of informational society. Values, motives, attitudes of individual students are considered through the prism of their inherent lifestyle, and socio-cultural environment with its many social and economic changes that affect the students as a large social group of society. Analyzes the results of a sociological survey, which showed that the main factors affecting the motivation of learning are: the shortcomings of textbooks and methodological literature; a large teaching load, especially for those who are studying to be 3 and 5 for the students of technical specialties, the lack of modern equipment, technical means; the inability to classrooms in need of repair, equipped with new furniture, training equipment. External sources of learning motivation are determined by the conditions of life of the student, including requirements, expectations and opportunities. Requirements associated with the need to comply with social norms of behavior, communication and activities. Expectations characterize the attitudes towards teaching as the norm of conduct, which is adopted by the person and allows to overcome the difficulties associated with the implementation of training activities. Opportunities are objective conditions that are necessary for the deployment of learning activities (textbooks, libraries and other information, material resources). Personal sources include the interests, needs, attitudes, standards and stereotypes that contribute to the pursuit of self-improvement, self-affirmation and self-realization in educational and other activities. The interaction of internal, external and personal sources of learning motivation has an impact on the nature of the learning process and its results. The absence of one of the sources leads to a restructuring of the system of educational motives or their deformation.
