Minorities are seldom included on school syllabi. Education legislation sets content with an overwhelming presence of major historical topics and leading figures, thus failing to reflect everyday historical reality. In Majorca, the evolution of a particular marginalised group has had an on-going impact on historical events: the ‘Xueta’ community. This article aims at raising awareness of the need to include minorities by introducing our proposal, analysing similar didactic projects and recounting our experience in teaching Jewish, convert and Xueta history at the Es Liceu school.
