Abstract
The golden age of the development of the Ukrainian Orthodoxy is inextricably linked with the name of the outstanding saint Petro Mohyla. The saint of Kyiv tried to transform and give a new breath to all possible aspects of the life of the Metropole. Naturally, for the realization of their desires St. Petro Mohyla chose the most effective instrument for managing the Orthodox system – the cathedral. The Cathedral of Kyiv, in 1640 covered a wide range of vital issues of the Orthodox life of the Metropole: explanation of the main principles of the Orthodox faith and acceptance of «Catechism», problems of the pastoral, liturgical and administrative nature, regulation of monastic life and ascetic feat, care for the spiritual and moral condition of the flock, and others.
