On the spurs of the Valdai upland, among the sprawling forests and meadows, lakes and rivers, 120 km south of Pskov, there is the Pushkin Nature Reserve, with former estates: Mikhailovskoye, Trigorskoye, Petrovsky, as well as the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsky Monastery with the grave of the poet in the village of Pushkin Mountains. Many wonderful pages have been written about these amazing places, but we will focus on the narration of only one of them — the chronicle of the salvation of Pushkin's places during the hard times, in July 1944.
