CARING OF POLI – HANDICAPPED CHILD
Abstract
The even more medicinized caring strategies of the poli-handicapped children, impose limitation and constraint problems. From ethical point of view, choosing these treatments must take into consideration the notion of life quality. The more and more sophisticated caring modalities of the handicapped children, underlined the problematic of limitation and constraints of the medical treatments. The efforts of the caring personal to reach at any costs “a good state” of the patient, from medical point of view, often produce psycho–affective dissolutions hard to quantify, but that finally affect the quality of the medical deed. Last but not least, the applying of these treatments, called conservative, must be discussed, as they maintain or compensate a function and allow ameliorations of the relational life. From an ethical point of view, we wonder what are the consequences of these conservative treatments, especially when they transform into a therapeutic eagerness.
