Conflits environnementaux et instrumentalisation dans le secteur des hydrocarbures en Russie orientale

Abstract

Several programs in the oil and gas sector concern Eastern Russia. The projects result in the construction of infrastructures of transportation and in the development of new fields, as the Kovykta gas condensate field. Environmental issues are involved in several ways. There exist environmental impediments to overcome. Furthermore, the notion of environment covers as well the resources to develop and the natural areas to protect. Debates arise from the oil and gas projects and invoke the question of environment. These conflicts show which the main actors and what their attitudes towards environment are. To what extent is the environmental cause instrumentalized?
