LISTENING TO THE NARRATIVES OF THE ATTORNEYS OF JUSTICE AND JOURNALISTS.
Abstract
The text presents the relations between public prosecutors and the press based on the "Chacina da Candelária" analysis, held in Rio de Janeiro in July 1993. We analyzed the oral testimony we obtained with the prosecutors and journalists who participated in the event. The analysis has allowed us to say that the alliance between media and prosecutors is at once both supportive and conflictive. The rush to respond to the media has led to a number of mistakes.
