A novel heterogenized Ni/β-diimine/SBA-15 complex applied for catalytic ethylene oligomerization
Abstract
Catalytic oligomerization of ethylene performed with the sterically hindered β-diimine ligand 2-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-amine-4-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-imine-2-pentene covalently ancored on SBA-15 mesoporous support employing the alkosilane 3-chloropropyltrimetoxysilane (CPTMS) for the first time. This material was tested as catalytic precursors for ethylene oligomerization processes and was characterized using various techniques such as small-angle XRD, elemental analysis, 1H and 29Si NMR, N2 sorption, gas chromatograph and flame atomic absorption spectroscopy. The heterogenized complex demonstrated an increase in selectivity for the products of interest (α-C4).
