Abstract

A Educação para uma Cidadania ativa tem sido amplamente debatida em diversos organismos mundiais, europeus e nacionais. Esta crescente importância vem na linha dos novos desafios que as sociedades democráticas se deparam num mundo que se encontra em constante mudança. O estudo da História e empatia histórica são essenciais para a promoção de uma cidadania ativa e global. Uma aula de História que não recorra à empatia histórica está, de algum modo, a falhar: quer no ensino da história, quer na preparação de futuros cidadãos.Between the past and the future: History and the promotion of a healthy CitizenshipAn Education to a Healthy Citizenship has been widely debated in various organizations either global, European or national. This growing importance meets the new challenges that democratic societies face in a world that is constantly changing.
