Development of an IC Engine Simulator
Abstract
After demonstrating the need for real-time simulation, it is shown that a transputer-based system can be used to mimic the functional elements of an analogue computer. This analogue approach to the modelling of dynamical systems, combined with the transputer's inherent digital mode of operation, results in a low-cost quasihybrid computer. In particular, it is shown how the quasi-hybrid computer is used to simulate an internal combustion (IC) engine model.
