The relationship between neuroticism, procrastination and addiction to the Internet and academic achievement in the second and third year high school students in Dezful city
Abstract
Improving education students is one of the major goals of contemporary education system .The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between neuroticism, procrastination and Internet addiction in the second and third year high school female students in Dezful city. In this study which was a descriptive with correlational. The study population included all female students in second and third year of high school Dezful that 220 students were selected randomly as the sample. The measurement tool Costa & McCrae Inventory, Young Addiction to Internet Questionnaire and Solomon & Rothblum Procrastination Questionnaire that was completed by the participants. For statistical data analysis, correctional coefficients and regression analysis is used. There were Negative significant relationship between neuroticism; procrastination and Internet addiction with academic achievement. According to the findings of this study can be said the amounts of academic procrastination among students are increasing. Then using of the effective coping strategies, leads the increasing the educational status of students.
