At the present stage, the number of interethnic marriages (both registered and unregistered) is increasing in Russia, which is due to a range of reasons, primarily the growing number of migrant workers and refugees. In conflict situations, especially when spouses get divorced, ethnic and religious factors inevitably affect children’s psychological safety. Methods: dialectical method of cognition, as well as general scientific (observation, description, analysis, synthesis, etc.) and specific scientific (comparative legal, statistical, sociological, etc.) research methods, including a statistical analysis of specific forensic psychological examinations of disputes over the order of upbringing and residence of children in interethnic and national families. Results: based on the situational approach, the factors that are important in determining the place of residence of children with one of the parents involved in a family conflict are highlighted: psychological, ethnic, religious. The article notes the influence of religious and ethnic factors on the psychological safety of minors in interethnic and national families and, as a consequence, on expert diagnostics of child-parent relations. Depending on the degree of influence of various factors and the attitude of minor children to participants in a family dispute, forensic situations are differentiated.
