Since Independence, the Brazilian people and territory have been constituted in temporal, social, cultural and political dynamics. In addition to different human groups, this history includes relationships between men and women with different native or acclimatized animals. The trajectory of these non-human species has integrated scenarios of conflict, freedom and submission. The history of animals is mixed, in an intense and complex way, with the struggles for freedom by Brazilian society.
