A correlational analysis of the short story Most na Žepi and the novel Na Drini ćuprija casts a light on key semantic focal points of depicting the bridge symbolism. The paper deals with the interpretation of the meaning and symbolical value of the bridge, it indicates the conciseness of description of both the bridge and its development throughout the short story, and finally it puts a special emphasis on broadening and enriching the meanings that the bridge conveys in the novel. The application of methodological approaches in this correlational analysis has shown in what ways the two literary works by Andrić mirror each other.
