Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease or histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis is a disease often presents with fever, malaise, and lymphadenopathy primarily involving the cervical lymph nodes, found mainly in young women. Hepatic abnormalities and bone marrow dysfunction may also be seen. The etiologic agent has been proposed to be of viral or autoimmune origin. We present a 27 years old woman with complaints of cervical lymphadenopathy and fever, which diagnosed as Kikuchi- Fujimoto disease with excisional lymph node biopsy and pathological inspection. Their characteristics are discussed, while a review of the literature is attempted.
