"Dialogue between a knight and a doctor", by Francisco de Moraes

Abstract

This work is the first critical edition of the Dialogue between a knight and a doctor, by Francisco de Moraes, more known as the Palmeirim de Inglaterra’s author. This small text is part of group of three dialogues which were published posthumously in the Manoel Carvalho’s press, in 1624. Here Moraes treats the topic as discussed at the time of arms and letters o tema tão debatido na sua época das armas e das letras, but without coming to give a final solution on the preference of one over the other.
