Linguistic political symbols. An attempt at definition The article discusses the problem of a specific kind of linguistic constructions which exist in the political language, and which will be referred to as ‘linguistic political symbols’. The group contains quotes from the political language that are used in everyday language, names of political or historical events, political invectives, and others. Linguistic political symbols have vague semantics, generally do not possess any canonical form, and can be remembered and used in a shape that considerably departs from the original.
