“ENTOMOLOGIST – WHO IS IT?..”

Abstract

In the memoirs of a graduate of Krupskaya Moscow Regional Pedagogical Institute of 1972, the original features of the portrait of the famous philologist-Slavicist Professor N. Kondrashov are revealed. Initiating readers into the retrospective of events of the faculty of Russian language and literature of those years, the author tells about the student’s perception of the lectures of this scientist, notes the peculiarities of his communication with colleagues and gives interesting facts from the biography of an outstanding linguist. The role of N. Kondrashov in preparing students for a trip to Czechoslovakia, his professional keen interest in the culture and language of this country are particularly emphasized. In the informal episodes of student life rare personal qualities of the scientist are highlighted: enthusiasm for science, factual assessment of events, wisdom of mentoring, humanity, love for the philological craft and his students.
