Abstract

Traditional Grammar highlights the antiquity and novelty of the Tamil language. The advent of Western theories brought about a great change not only in Tamil literature but also in Traditional Grammar. For example, M.A. Nuhumaan’s book “Adippadai Tamil Ilakkanam” has given more importance to Tamil syntax. This article is based on the hypothesis that syntactic concepts were present in Tamil Traditional Grammar before the appearance of Western theories in Indian literature. This article explores the syntactical concepts found in “Veerachozhiyam Vettumai Patalam”. This article examines the syntactical concepts found in Tamil sentences where case Markers occur.
