Determination of the Bending Moment in the Diaphragm Wall by Inclinometric Observations
Abstract
The article discusses the features of monitoring the enclosing structures of the deep excavation, made using the technology of a diaphragm wall in the ground. In modern geotechnical construction practice, it is important to ensure the safe execution of works on the installation of deep pits in the built-up part of the city. The use of the diaphragm wall construction for fencing the pit has become a popular technical solution. However, there are many uncertainties associated with the work of the construction. The rationale for the need to control the actual values of the bending moment that occurs in the structure is given. The main difficulties associated with the control of forces in the enclosing structure with the help of force sensors are noted. Based on the laws of the theory of elasticity, an alternative method has been developed for determining bending moments in the diaphragm wall according to inclinometric observations, taking into account the non-linear operation of reinforced concrete. To analyze the engineering situation, the PLAXIS 2D software package was used in an untrained formulation. The obtained results are compared with the results of numerical calculations.
