Religious Education of the Peoples of the Volga Region in the Beginning of the XX century

Abstract

The article describes the educational politics of Russia among the peoples of Volga Region in the beginning of the ХХ century which was carried out by means of religious education. Confessional variety in the region derivated the various approaches to the education of Moslem, buddhists, etc. The state and church inculcated the system of N. Ilminskiy through missionary schools, played the positive role in education of non-Russian peoples of Volga Region.
