Abstract

The literary work of Schwarz-Bart and Maryse Condé participates in a collective reflection upon the Antillean lived-experience. We aim to shed light on this reflexive treatment insofar as it renews the « antillean novel ». By taking food as the object of our study in Un Plat de porc aux bananes vertes and Heremakhonon, we intend to analyze its narrative function as an identity referent.
