The article discusses the results of a study of asymptomatic patientswith a severe stenosing process in the brachiocephalicarteries (in a model of carotid atherosclerosis), with emphasison determination of biochemical markers associated with variousstages of atherogenesis. The definition of a group of proatherogenicand atheroprotective biomarkers is suggested andsubstantiated. Correlations among biomarkers are described.The correlations have potential etiopathogenetic nature, whichnecessitates further validation of these pathological changes inwider groups of patients.
