EFFECTIVE AND SAFE MONOTHERAPY WITH INTRAVAGINAL NEO-PENOTRAN FORTE AND VAGINORM C SUPPOSITORIES
Abstract
Purpose: Compare efficacy and safety of Neo-Penotran Forte and Vaginorm C intravaginal pharmaceuticals in bacterial vaginosis treatment.Materials and methods: 84 female patients were inspected at the age from 18 to 45 years old, 31,5 years old in average, with bacterial vaginosis diagnosis. 42 patients were treated with Neo-Penotran Forte, and 42 patients were treated with Vaginorm C. All the female patients were divided in two groups in accordance with the used treatment mode: the 1st group was treated with Neo-penotran forte (vaginal suppositories) (n=42), the 2nd group was treated with Vaginorm C (vaginal tablets) (n=42). Treatment efficacy and safety was evaluated 3 days after the treatment was over and a month after the treatment was over.Results: The treatment with Neo-Penotran Forte showed more pronounced clinical and laboratory effect both at the first and the second visits in comparison with Vaginorm C.Summary: The most effective scheme of bacterial vaginosis treatment is metronidazole and miconazole combination. Efficacy of metronidazole and miconazole combination treatment is 100%, efficacy of ascorbic acid treatment is 80%.
