A research group constituted within the Board of the Presidents of “Scienze della Formazione Primaria” (SFP) degree courses and composed of teachers, researchers, and tutors from some Italian universities, designed a Questionnaire for the Assessment of Laboratories (QVL) for the course of Scienze della Formazione Primaria, following a participatory working methodology. The group designed the tool starting from: the information obtained from a survey, administered to the Coordinators of SFP Courses; previous experiences; studies on the foundations of the laboratories from a historical and cultural point of view. The tool allows students to assess SFP laboratories connected to the Italian Decree 249/2010. The questionnaire is divided into sections that aim to collect data on various aspects, all related to the laboratory experience. In addition to identifying and profiling data, the questionnaire allows students to express opinions about dynamics related to the organization, implementation, assessment, and management of the laboratory considered. The group administered two pre-tests that made it possible to improve the tool, making it more effective and usable. The structure hypothesized in the first draft was overall confirmed. The contribution presented here dwells specifically on the tool designing process and on the role of the student's voice in verifying the coherence between the questions proposed and the laboratory experience students had carried out.
