As global warming and human activities continue, algal blooms are becoming more frequent and severe. Based on the fact that even the best technical measures cannot directly reduce nutrient production caused by human activities, the author argues that promoting public education as a pre-treatment measure is more efficient and fundamental than relying solely on post-treatment social reports and engineering restoration techniques. This study aims to increase awareness among countries worldwide about the critical role of public education and engagement in preventing algal blooms. This is particularly important given the projected increase in population, as well as the uncertainties surrounding climate and the environment in the future.
