Investigation on electrochemical repair of reinforced concrete structure cracks and their bonding performance
Abstract
The durability failure of reinforced concrete structures will occur under chloride ion erosion. Electrochemical repair technology can effectively improve the durability of reinforced concrete structures and prolong the service life of structures. However, the electrochemical repair technology may also cause hydrogen embrittlement and porosity change in reinforced concrete structures. The electrochemical test of reinforced concrete block with precast crack was carried out in this work. The results show that the bond loss of reinforced concrete is small when the electric flux is small. The electrochemical repair technique without controlling the electrical parameters results in a significant decrease in the bonding strength. When 5 A/m2 current was used to carry out constant-current electrification for 4 weeks, the maximum loss of bonding force of the specimen was up to 61.2 %.
