Distribution and quantitative indicators of the brown rat (Rattus norvegicus) in the southern region of Kyrgyzstan
Abstract
The range of the new species, the brown rat, is most common in anthropogenic-residential landscapes among the landscapes of the foothill zone of southern Kyrgyzstan, accounting for 46.9±2.07%, with a quantitative indicator of 0.80±0.04 units per trap per day. It has been proven that in anthropogenic-residential landscapes of the mid-mountain altitude zone, the share is 25.9±1.80%, with a quantitative indicator of 1.04±0.09units per trap per day, and in nut-fruit forest landscapes with an expansion of the range - 15.3±1.54% and 0.13±0.03 units per trap per day.The brown rat (Rattus norvegicus) was first captured in 2000 and identified as a new mammal species in southern Kyrgyzstan.
