La herencia de la herida
Abstract
In Nuestra parte de noche, Mariana Enríquez tells the story of Juan and his son Gaspar between 1960 and 1997 in Argentina. Juan is a medium and, despite his efforts to prevent it, Gaspar will inherit his share of the night, inextricably linked to the collective trauma caused by Argentina’s last military dictatorship. This article looks at how Enríquez, using the tools of the fantastic and going beyond the realist and testimonial genres, explores the legacy of trauma and memory stifled by secrecy.
